LONWORKS into Opto
Hi
Has anyone out there had any ideas on how to interface a lonworks device into opto?  I know the protocol is really weird (not standard serial...) but is there any device that someone knows about that can interface directly or indirectly to an opto controller?

Re: LONWORKS into Opto

LonWorks devices communicate with the protocol LonTalk which communicates via a non standard wire.  Therefore, we do not offer any products that communicate using the Lontalk protocol.  However, we do offer a modus module and development kit.  Many companies offer a Modus/Lontalk converter.  If you do a google search, a list of companies will show up.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Actually you will only get 1 reference to Modus/Lontalk from Google (This post!).  Try "Modbus/Lontalk" and you will get 7,290.  Strange how an open protocol from 1979 is still the worlds standard for connecting to propietary comunications systems!

Oops! You are correct. I mistyped Modbus/Lontalk and Opto 22 does not offer Modus module. We offer a Modbus module. Those crazy 'B's. Thanks for pointing it out.
