WiFi Networks
If anyone is considering a telemetry install I can help get you a high end ethernet system over miles of distance. In addition, the systems I build can be designed to accept a large number of sites all either inter-connected or seprated by subnets. For those of you who still prefer serial comm, no problem. I can get you there with the same equipment and provide point to multipoint serial at data rates as high as the max serial port speed you have on the hardware. Keep in mind, this is not the junk you buy at consumer stores, but is the same equipment used for WISPs. I have one system installed at Coca-Cola which has been running 24/7/365 for two years running with no apparent problems. This is a system which uses a UIO which talks to two remote Enet brains at two other locations via WiFi and controls a 125hp vfd at each of these sites in PID mode to supply the plant with process water.
