Hello folks, I am trying to install the ioManager Configuration Software downloaded from the web site (R5.0b released 2003-12-03). It will not install, giving this error message: "Error 1606.Could not access network location Opto22." (in a Retry/Cancel message box) I tried renaming one of the network connections "Opto22", but that didn't help. I am not sure what this error means. No information was found in the ioManager User's Guide, a search of the Opto22 site and forums, or Googling the Internet and Newsgroups. Any ideas? My system is a Win 2K Server SP4 with 3 Ethernet connections (only 1 of which is currently used). TIA, -Steve

The problem and solution take some explaining to understand it clearly. 1. ioManager version R5.0b had a problem with the install. The problem got corrected, but the corrected version was also called R5.0b. 2. The "old" Web site was the current Web site at that time and got updated with the "new" R5.0b install. At that point, all was well. 3. However, the new Web site got released, but the old R5.0b version was mistakenly reposted. That problem has been corrected. How can you tell for sure which file is which? Download the file to your local hard drive, and then inspect the file properties. Look at the "Size" parameter (note "Size" is not the same as "Size on disk"). The correct size is 9,772,329 bytes.

Hi. Here's an interresting one... When trying to install ioManager R5.1c, I get the following:
"1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance, Return code: -2147024891"
Although I am sure that it's a windows error, it would be interresting to hear if anyone else has got this error when installing an opto application. I can also mention that I had the same trouble trying to install the patch for Win2k SP3 & SP4 patch for factory Floor.
