Interesting GT47/48 Power Information
When using the Sony Ericsson GT47/48 modem terminal in an G4-SE-4A8D rack as part of the NVIO solution, the power supply requirements is simply 12VDC to 24VDC applied directly to the rack. If you are planning on using the modem independently of an Opto22 rack, then an optional mains adaptor can be used. However if you plan on using an industrial quality power supply then the range 5-32VDC is acceptable. An RJ12 6-way connector, serves as a means of supplying and controlling DC power to the GT47/48. The necessary pinout is the following, with Pin1 on the right as you look at the connector. Pin1 VIN [5-32VDC Positive Power Input] Pin4 TO-IN [Active low control line used to switch off the GT47] Pin6 GND [Negative Power (Ground) Input] and return path for TO-IN]
Note:
The GT47 will not switch on if TO_IN is shorted to ground when the dc supply is applied. TO-IN must be switched to supply voltage in order to avoid powering down the unit. If your application is not power consumption sensitive or you don’t really understand its advantages, the best thing to do is to externally jumper pin1 to pin4, which makes the modem work always when the supply voltage is applied between Pin1 and Pin6
