we develop a productivity web based application that collects information from various devices like barcode readers, electronic weighters, serial printers, etc. The application processes the information and generates reports, charts, balances, etc. We experimented with an SNAP-ARL-ASDS linux based controller to get information from air conditioning system: Temperatures, power compsumtion, hours of working. The developent of the interface between the controller and the database took less than a week and used free development tools. This controller is a good alternative for small-to-medium companies where there is no big budgets for propietary tools
