Set TPO Percent command issues:
In i/o & PAC control sending this command causes the period to restart. In Factory Floor this was not the case as it appeared to set the percentage at the end of the period or at least allow the current period to finish? On possible explanation is differences between serial and ethernet brains.
Example: Set TPO Period to 20 seconds then Set TPO Period to 5(%), if the Set TPO Percent is part of a 'normal scan' say every 100 mSec,,, the behavior of the TPO is essentially ON 100% of the period,,, as it is constantly re-starting the TPO in the ON state vs the expected behavior of 1 sec on 19 sec off.
I have played with some work arounds that look at the current TPO period and compare it with the period of the previous scan, if there is no change the percent is not up dated. A more robust version includes a trap to looks for a change outside of a nominal limit say +/- 1%,,, to anticipate any type of noise in the sensors and/or associated PID.
I have asked OPTO to look into this (KB 57195), just wondering if others have had the same experience or have a better work around?
