OptoDisplay Runtime crash in XP
We have the new Factory Floor 4.1a on an XP workstation. We run OptoDisplay Runtime on this machine for our HMI. Every once in a while we get a message box saying an error has occurred and the program must be shut down. It asks if we want to send an error report to Microsoft (we can't because it is an isolated network) and it closes the window. We can restart OptoDisplay Runtime immediately and everything is fine, until the next time. This is a couple times a day thing so it is mainly just a nuisance, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem or has any ideas how to fix it. The workstation has a 3 GHz processor and 512Mb RAM so I don't think it is a problem with lack of speed or memory. The controller we are talking to is an LCM4 with an ethernet card. We also use ethernet for all of our I/O (SNAP Ethernet I/O). Thanks for any help you can offer, Dan Andrews A-Carb LLC

Re: OptoDisplay Runtime crash in XP
We also use ioDisplay 6.0 for our HMI and we use ioControl 6.1a and we are also getting intermittent crashing of the Runtime using Win XP service pack 1. It is a pain but as you say we have no problem restarting Runtime after the crash. I haven't got a clue what it is either but I would also be interested to know anyone who does.

Re: OptoDisplay Runtime crash in XP
We are using Factory Floor 4.1a with Win 2K. I am having the same problems with Configurator and Runtime crashing since the upgrade. Also have noticed new problems with LCM4's with E-net cards losing communications with remote E-net Brains. Re-booting of controller is required every time. Anyone seeing this also?

I am running Windows XP, with IOPROJECT 6.1. I was have the IODisplay crashing problems and opc server crashing. I was using window xp pro service pack 2. I went pack to service pack 1, my problems went away. I think that it has crashing has something to do with service pack 2.

Re: OptoDisplay Runtime crash in XP
I worked around the crash by unchecking "Enable Runtime Operator Action Logging" in Configure \ Runtime \ Security
