Online calculator/offline IP addressing calculator
Every now and again, I stumble upon a cool Internet site or Web widget. Many times, these finds are useful for personal tasks. But once in a great while, a few are good enough to share among the Opto community. The first is an online calculator. Big deal, right? Well this one is embedded and fully functional as you can see below. I've preset some of the values for IP addressing, specifically, masking out subnets. Try changing some of the values below, and you'll see the results updated live.
UPDATE: the embedded calculator caused the new IE7 to crash, so we've removed the embedded script. You can check out the calculator here though: www.instacalc.com
On the subject of IP addressing calculators, during the most recent Seminar Tour we presented our Simplified IP Addressing document. The Famatech downloadable IP calculator is also very helpful (as are their scanners and the Remote Admin utility (thanks to James Davis in Pre-Sales Engineering for the tip).
