As an experiment (and because I'm a YouTube fan), I posted one of our OptoScreencasts up to YouTube. It was so quick and easy to do (and I am the copyright holder, so legal too). But revealing to the masses how powerful our free ioDisplay software is wasn't my only motivation. While Kelly, one of our newest engineers here on the OptoCampus, is certainly pleasant to listen to, the main reason I uploaded the video was two-fold: I wanted to be able to embed video in future blog postings without hosting the video on our site; and the geek in me wanted to see what I could put on my iPod to share space with Season 3 of the Office.
Well, both worked. As you can see below, the video I uploaded to YouTube is embedded in this blog post. By simple clicking on the arrow in the middle of the image, play begins...without having to navigate to the YouTube site. I expect you'll see many more video blogs coming from us here in the future. And, if you navigate to the Learn section of our website, and click on the ioDisplay screencast link (near the top right), once you launch the movie, you'll be presented with the opportunity to download the screencast in iPod format. Download the file, unzip it, open iTunes, choose File...Add File to Library, sync up, and wa-la: OptoScreencasts on your video iPod, all for your enjoyment while away from your PC. Cool beans.
We're out to show the world that they can expect more, get more and do more with Opto stuff, and we think videos, blogs, screencasts, tutorials, and more are coming on to the scene faster than ever. Are you interested in learning more about Opto hardware and software through videos? Like how to connect Opto gear to real world devices? Or how our customers use Opto in their applications? Perhaps of Opto folk doing their jobs? I'd love to hear your ideas.
