Opto 22 Video Team Travels to Lumenyte

 

This New Year the marketing team made the resolution to bring more application stories to you guys.  And we got started on this resolution right away.  In early January, the Opto 22 video team traveled to Lumenyte, a fiber optic lighting manufacturer in Foothill Ranch, CA, to shoot a video case study of their process control application.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was very excited when we arrived and they led us into a room that had examples of some of the different applications that use their products on display.  When I think of Fiber Optic Lighting, I think of amusement parks but their display showed exactly how diverse fiber optic lighting really is.  They had normal lighting applications, homeland security applications, emergency evacuation applications, and transportation applications on display.   They were nice enough to let us do the first section of filming in this room.

 

 

The next place we set up our cameras was the manufacturing area.  They have a large casting chamber that produces long strands of fiber optics.  Because of the refrigeration process, the pipes get frosted over.  That is something I don't see everyday.

During the filming process, the guys from Lumenyte were great and had some very interesting stories to tell.  They talked about being presented an American flag from the military and how many American lives their homeland security products have saved.  Way to go guys!
