New Product Coming - the SNAP-HD-G4F6

Here's the scoop on a very useful new product we're about to formally announce next week. The SNAP-HD-G4F6 is a new header cable that lets you use your old G4 digital I/O with our new SNAP PACs and SNAP Ethernet I/O brains. There are literally tens of millions of G4 I/O points out there and the SNAP-HD-G4F6 gives these G4 digital customers an opportunity to utilize some of our latest generation products, like the PACs and our more powerful ioProject software suite. Here's how:
SNAP-HD-G4F6 Group Picture
For installations where G4 digital I/O on a G4PB rack is connected to a controlling PLC or PC via ribbon cables, the SNAP-HD-G4F6 allows you to replace these connections with a single cable that provides an interface to the SNAP PACs or SNAP Ethernet I/O via Opto's high density digital I/O modules, like the SNAP-ODC-32-SRC.

There are lots of reasons you might want to consider doing this. Each SNAP 32-channel digital module-cable-G4 I/O rack combination provides 32 points of channel-to-channel isolation and 4000V isolation from the field-to-control side, coupled with 3 amps switching and sensing capability. (In many cases, this can eliminate the need to add interposing relays to your architecture.) And of course, upgrading your system to Ethernet lets you use the ioProject™ software suite, which delivers a more powerful control programming environment capable of PID control, subroutines, HMI, OPC connectivity, and much more. And remember, you gain all this while still preserving your investment in your existing I/O.

Keep an eye out for our official announcement early next week and visit the SNAP-HD-G4F6 for more info.
