Applies To:

PAC Control Basic

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.1d
Problem is fixed in version: R8.2b

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R8.2b

Symptoms:

OptoScript code with mulitple errors may cause PAC Control to crash when the code is test compiled.

Example

If the return value for the OptoScript ReceiveString command is incorrectly assigned to a string variable instead of a numeric variable, and a parameter is missing from the function call, then PAC Control may crash when Test Compile is clicked.

// Correct command line
RECV_STATUS = ReceiveString(RECV_MSG, cName_of_comm_handle);

// Incorrect command line
sMyString = ReceiveString(cName_of_comm_handle);

Workaround:

Be sure to include all OptoScript command parameters and assigned return values to the correct variable types.

Resolution:
