SYMPTOMS

After uninstalling FactoryFloor R4.0b, FactoryFloor cannot be reinstalled.

WORKAROUND

To resolve this issue, perform the following:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information. If this folder is not visible, it may be “hidden”. Choose Explorer Tools→Folder Options, and change the folder’s attributes to show hidden files.
  2. The folders are named as “Globally Unique Identifiers” (GUID). Under each folder, search for a Setup.ini file and look for the line beginning with "AppName=". If the application name refers to the uninstalled FactoryFloor version, then use the name of that subfolder in place of the term "GUID" in the steps that follow.
  3. Select Start, Run, and run regedit. Search for the following keys and if found, delete them.
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Opto22\FactoryFloor

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GUID

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_GUID

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield Uninstall Information\GUID
