Changing a point's state should cancel pulse, square wave, and TPO commands

Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-S1
SNAP-PAC-S2
SNAP-PAC-R1
SNAP-PAC-R2
SNAP-PAC-EB1
SNAP-PAC-EB2

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.4a
Resolution is included beginning in version: B8.4b, build date 06/22/2009 and after
Problem is fixed in version: R8.5a

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R8.5a

Symptoms:

Ethernet brains do not handle pulse trains the same as legacy mistic brains. Ethernet brains do not turn off pulse trains when a Turn Off or Turn On command is sent to an output point, or when the output is configured, such as when a strategy is first run and I/O units are initialized.

In addition, time proportional output (TPO) does not work on high density digital outputs.

Workaround:

To programmatically cancel a pulse train on an Ethernet brain, use the Start-On Pulse or Start Off-Pulse command with the on time or off time set to 0. Pulse trains on Ethernet and mistic brains will also be cancelled if the brain receives a reset command.

Resolution:

A fix for this problem has been released.
