Spike in values read from G1 analog input modules with B2 brain

Applies To:

B2

Versions Affected:

Problem may affect brain boards with: Chip with white label indicating '8949'

Symptoms:

There is a remote possibility that infrequent, temporary spikes may occur in analog input values when using a B2 brain board with a white label marked '8949.' For example, readings from the module consistently correspond to 3.3V, and every so often, 4.0V is read, with readings immediately returning to 3.3V. This pattern will sporadically repeat.

The following conditions are required for the possibility of this issue to occur:

- The B2 brain board has a white label marked '8949'.

- The mounting rack is a 16 position rack.

- An analog input module reporting spikes in values is installed side by side to an analog output module on a mounting rack in positions 12-13, 13-14, or 14-15.
