Internet Explorer 10 and 11 behaviors affect groov on an Intranet

Applies To:

groov View running on:

  • GROOV-AT1, GROOV-AT1-SNAP
  • GROOV-SVR-WIN, GROOV-SVR-WIN-SNAP

Versions Affected:

R2.0a – R2.0c with IE10 and IE11

Resolved In Version:

R2.1a

Symptoms:

When groov is accessed using Internet Explorer 10 or 11 in Intranet mode, groov will not load pages, enter Build mode, or add an Image to the Image gadget. Whether Intranet mode is triggered or not in Internet Explorer depends on how you address groov.

For example, if there's a groov Box named "machine-name" at 10.20.30.40 on a domain named DomainName.com, the following will not trigger the Intranet mode behaviors:

https://machine-name.DomainName.com
or
https://10.20.30.40

Compatibility View Behaviors

In IE11, under Compatibility View settings, there's an option called "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View". When using groov via hostname, IE will use IE 7 compatibility mode. When Intranet mode has been triggered, groov will not load pages and cannot enter Build mode.

Image Uploads Behavior

When using the Image gadget in Intranet mode, you cannot successfully add an image. (The Compatibility View setting described above does not affect this problem.)
