qNaN on analog output module causes groov error

Applies To:

groov View running on:

  • GROOV-AR1, GROOV-AR1-SNAP
  • GROOV-AT1, GROOV-AT1-SNAP
  • GROOV-SVR-WIN, GROOV-SVR-WIN-SNAP

Versions Affected:

R2.1d and earlier

Resolved In Version:

R2.2a

Symptoms:

If a groov Slider gadget (or another gadget that allows an accuracy setting such as the Level Indicator gadget) is connected to an analog output module that the brain can't communicate with, it may cause all gadgets on that groov page to disconnect. (The specific value that causes this problem is a qNaN.)

Every gadget displays the yellow triangle error with the message, “The groov Box cannot be reached. groov View is trying to connect to the groov Box.”

If it’s a read-only gadget (such as the dial gauge) then only that gadget shows an error. In this case, the yellow error reports “An unexpected error has occurred. Details: Value received could not be parsed”

Workaround:

Diagnose and correct the cause of the qNaN values as follows:

  1. Ensure the appropriate analog output module is plugged into the appropriate position on the rack.
  2. Verify voltage downstream of the fuse on the rack is 5.00 to 5.20 VDC.
