Cannot access my groov Box via the hostname

Applies To:

GROOV-AT1
GROOV-AR1
GROOV-AT1-SNAP
GROOV-AR1-SNAP

Versions Affected:

Versions affected: All

Symptoms:

When starting a groov Box, if you try to access groov before the SYS LED has stopped blinking, you might not be able to log in using the hostname. The browser returns an error that says it cannot find/display that hostname's webpage. This occurs because the DNS cache on the PC has not had enough time to successfully register the hostname before the attempt access to the groov Box.

Workaround:

When starting a groov Box, always wait until the SYS LED has stopped blinking before you try to access groov. Otherwise, you might not be able to log in using the hostname. If this happens, try one of the following methods to log in:

Method 1: Open groov Find and locate the IP address of the groov you want to log into. Log into groov using the IP address. After some time passes, you should be able to log in again using the hostname.

Method 2: If you are on a Windows computer, open a command prompt and enter ipconfig /flushdns. Then log into groov using the hostname.

If you are on a Mac, see instructions for resetting the DNS cache here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202516
