Erroneous configuration of HART TCP ports in HART Developer Toolkit

Applies To:

SNAP PAC .NET HART Developer Toolkit

Versions Affected:

Problem affects versions: R1.0d
Problem is fixed in version: R1.0e

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R1.0e

Symptoms:

This issue occurs if you are using the HART .NET Developer Toolkit with SNAP-AIMA-iH analog input or SNAP-AOA-23-iH analog output modules. The HART(String address, int moduleNumber, int channelNumber, int port) constructor in the toolkit attempts to set the TCP port. Except for port A on the module in position 0, the location it sets is incorrect. As a result, HART modules at higher-numbered positions on the rack could receive random settings.

Workaround:

Open up the HART ports on a given brain in reverse numeric order. For instance, if you have HART modules at rack positions 1, 3, 5, 8, and 13, open them in the following order: 13, 8, 5, 3, 1.

Resolution:
