Versions Affected:

Problem affects: All versions through R9.4b

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: PAC Firmware R9.4c

Symptoms:

If you have SNAP I/O modules with custom scaling, you may see a module lose its scaling and revert to default scaling. If you then inspect the Status Read area of the brain or rack-mounted controller on the same rack as the module, you will note that the I/O module has been discovered multiple times, and probably also that 1 or 2 Arcnet reconfigs have been detected.

This issue may occur if an analog module resets several times in a row, so it is important to diagnose why the module is resetting. One common cause is low voltage (below 5.00 VDC) at the rack.

Workaround:

Check periodically for lost custom scaling and reconfigure when it is lost.

More importantly, determine why the module resets. Check voltage at the rack (measure and adjust the voltage downstream of the fuse on the rack). Voltage should measure between 5.00 and 5.20 VDC.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
