Heavy use of a file COM handle by multiple charts may cause the controller to reset

Symptoms:

If a COM handle is used by multiple charts and is accessed frequently by those charts, hardware control engines may reset, and SoftPAC may queue a Bus Error (-16).

The reset or bus error will occur if one chart closes a COM handle while another chart is in the middle of using it. The chart that is still using it may not know it is closed and try to use the now-invalid handle.

Workaround:

Use a flag variable in the strategy to synchronize the COM handle.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
