SNAP analog output module resets when invalid float is written to it

Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-R1-B
SNAP-PAC-R1-FM
SNAP-PAC-R1-W
SNAP-PAC-R2
SNAP-PAC-R2-FM
SNAP-PAC-R2-W

SNAP-PAC-EB2-W
SNAP-PAC-SB1
SNAP-PAC-SB2

Versions Affected:

Problem affects: Firmware - all versions

Symptoms:

If an invalid float is written to a SNAP analog output module, the module resets. In PAC Manager, the Module - Times Discovered count will increase with each occurrence.

Workaround:

An invalid floating point value can occur with a divide-by-zero math calculation, or it can occur when reading an analog input that is not accessible to the brain. Be sure to check the voltage as measured at the rack and also downstream of the fuse on the rack to make sure it is 5.00 to 5.20 VDC. You can also use the PAC Control condition "Float Valid?" to verify a floating point value before writing it to an analog output.

Resolution:
