PAC Control: Analog points higher than the 4th point on a SNAP-PAC-R1-B I/O unit show incorrect values

Applies To:

PAC Control Basic
PAC Control Professional

Versions Affected:

Versions affected: R9.4c through R9.6b
Problem is fixed in version: R9.6c

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R9.6c

Symptoms:

Note: This issue is related to PAC Control software, not to the SNAP-PAC-R1-B firmware or hardware.

If your strategy includes a SNAP-PAC-R1-B I/O unit that has an analog I/O module with more than 4 points (such as the SNAP-PAC-AITM-8), points higher than the 4th point will show incorrect values. When you inspect these points in Debug mode, PAC Control shows the XVAL as either 0 (zero) or  -1.#QNAN.

Workaround:

As a temporary fix, when you configure the I/O unit, select SNAP-PAC-R1 instead of SNAP-PAC-R1-B. Then, configure its points as normal.

CAUTION: If you use this workaround, don't forget that the I/O unit is really a SNAP-PAC-R1-B, which does not accept 4-channel digital modules in positions higher than 7 on the rack. Make sure you do not place 4-channel digital modules in the upper 8 module positions.
