Internet Explorer does not show certain icons and does not allow dropdown lists to open

Symptoms:

As of the update from Windows dated 12/13/16, Internet Explorer no longer allows drop-down lists to expand and fails to render certain icons (for example, the bell icon for viewing event status).

Workaround:

No workaround for icons.
Dropdown lists can be navigated by using the arrow keys.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
