SYMPTOMS

The ioDisplay Synchronize at Runtime startup (synchronizes control engine clock to PC clock) option and the time interval at which synchronization should occur, may not work for a user who did not run Configure→Runtime in ioDisplay Configurator. A user who runs ioDisplay Configurator will not have this problem, but another user (account) who runs the project in Runtime without running Configurator, may have this problem. This can occur for example, when the Runtime project is run on a PC that is different from the one on which Configurator resides.

CAUSE

The settings about controller synchronization are stored in a user’s local registry. Windows retains separate user registry settings for each user account. A different user who runs the ioDisplay project in Runtime without first running Configurator, will not have the registry settings the prior user had. Also, it is common for the Runtime project to be run on a PC that is different from the PC Configurator is on.

RESOLUTION

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
