SNAP-PAC-S1 and serial I/O unit enabling from ioControl

Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-S1 Controller Firmware

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R7.0a
Problem is fixed in version: R7.0b

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R7.0b

Symptoms:

Attempting to enable a serial I/O unit with a SNAP-PAC-S1 control engine before an ioControl strategy is run, fails. This prevents the SNAP-PAC-S1 from enabling the serial I/O unit until power is cycled to the control engine and the strategy is run.

If there is an attempt to enable the brain from debug mode before the strategy is started, three successive -9 errors and one –534 error are added to the controller error queue. The brain is subsequently not enabled. If the strategy is then started, error –87 is added to the error queue, and the serial I/O unit is still not enabled. Cycling power to the SNAP-PAC-S1 clears the errors and resets it for proper operation.
