Serial B3000 issues in firmware versions 81.30 and 81.31

Symptoms:

Various symptoms are apparent when using serial B3000 brains with version 81.30 or 81.31 firmware. They are characterized by the following:

  1. Averaging does not work on the second channel of analog modules.
  2. Periodic zero readings possible on any analog module. Readings are typically normal.
  3. Some analog modules may report a value of ‑32768.
  4. Scanning issues resulted in I/O readings not being updated.

Resolution:

Brain firmware version 81.32 corrects these issues. Determine the firmware version in your serial B3000 using the suggested methods:

If you are using OptoControl:

  1. A serial B3000 unit may represent up to two digital I/O units, and two analog I/O units. Select one of the configured I/O units to inspect in Debug mode.
  2. In Debug mode, double-click the I/O unit in the strategy tree. The View I/O Unit window appears.
  3. The version is listed under Firmware Version.
  4. If the version is within the affected version range, contact Opto 22 Product Support.
