Digital point features and non-Digital Point commands in OptoControl
Revision:  2.0
Published:  4/24/2006
Applies To
FactoryFloor Software - OptoControl
Versions

DESCRIPTION

OptoControl commands that display digital point features, such as ‘Counter’, as a valid command argument type and are not in the Digital Point command group, may not evaluate as expected when the strategy is run. The point state, not its feature value is evaluated. Some of the commands that exhibit this behavior are the Greater?, Equal?, and Move commands.

Digital point features that may appear as argument options are:

CounterPeriod
On-PulseOn-Time Totalizer
Off-PulseOff-time Totalizer
Frequency

RECOMMENDED APPROACH

From the Digital Point Group commands, use the ‘Get command’‘ where command is the command for the corresponding digital point feature. Example: Use the Get Counter command to read the latest value from a counter. Save it to a variable, and use the variable as an argument in the desired OptoControl command.

When working with digital features, only use the digital feature commands listed in the Digital Point command group to directly access the I/O point feature value.
