Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-S1
SNAP-PAC-R1
SNAP-PAC-R2
SNAP-UP1-ADS
SNAP-UP1-M64
SNAP-UP1-D64
SNAP-LCE

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.0a SNAP PAC firmware, B7.2 Ultimate I/O firmware
Problem is fixed in version: R8.0c SNAP PAC firmware, R7.2d Ultimate I/O firmware

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R8.0c SNAP PAC firmware, R7.2d Ultimate I/O firmware

Symptoms:

Outgoing TCP communications through PPP may fail with some Outgoing PPP configurations. For example, suppose Specify Local IP Address is enabled for outgoing PPP, and Set Default Gateway to PPP is not enabled for outgoing PPP. If the remote server negotiates an IP address that is not on the same subnet as that specified by Local IP Address for PPP Interface and Local subnet mask for PPP Interface, then packets destined for the remote device on the specified subnet may be dropped.

From ioManager, Outgoing PPP configuration parameters may be seen by inspecting an I/O unit (Tools→Inspect, clicking the Communications button, and selecting PPP Configure.
