SYMPTOMS

If a tag database file is downloaded to a working E1 or E2 brain, communication to the brain is lost once power is cycled. The brain cannot be pinged or detected by PAC Manager.

This issue occurs only in brains that also exhibit the issue outlined in KB82173.

RESOLUTION

Opto 22 has resolved this issue. To regain communications with the brain, reset it to factory defaults according to the E1 and E2 User's Guide (Form 1563). Once communication has resumed, update the brain firmware to R1.1c or higher.
