SYMPTOMS

In a peer-to-peer network of OptoControl controllers, data can no longer be sent to a peer controller. Sessions are reported as closed, and the controller is no longer able to communicate over Ethernet. Error “–51 Bad port” may be reported.

CAUSE

If incoming and outgoing requests to close a port are simultaneously received for the same session, both requests succeed and both decrement the session counter. The session count is decremented by 2 instead of by 1.

RESOLUTION

Opto 22 has resolved this issue. The error reported is changed to “-74 Session not open.”
