New PAC Project 8.1 Adds Distributed I/O Features for Ethernet and Serial I/O

PAC Project software suitePAC Project provides a full-featured integrated development environment for the SNAP PAC System. Our new PAC Project version 8.1 adds features for both control programming and HMI development.

New PAC Control commands add frequency measurement, period measurement, and analog and digital totalization to the already long list of distributed I/O functions.

New PAC with Four Serial Ports Combines Ethernet and Serial I/O Systems

SNAP-PAC-S2 programmable automation controllerPlease welcome the new SNAP PAC controller, the SNAP-PAC-S2.

This beefy new PAC not only has two Ethernet interfaces, and also boasts four serial ports, all configurable for RS-232 or RS-485.

The new SNAP-PAC-S2 makes it easy to combine both Ethernet and serial distributed I/O in the same system. Or you can use the ports for direct connection to serial devices or a modem connection using PPP.

Read the SNAP-PAC-S2 press release.

New Brains Provide Serial Networking Option

SNAP PAC controllers

For those of you who need serial-based I/O, we've got two new SNAP PAC Serial Brains, the SNAP-PAC-SB1 and the SNAP-PAC-SB2.

The SB1 is shown here on a SNAP PAC rack with SNAP I/O analog and digital modules.

Use the new brains for new installations or for upgrading older serial mistic SNAP I/O units, for example, when you need higher density I/O.

Read the SNAP PAC Serial Brains press release.

New 8-Channel Analog Input Modules

SNAP 8-channel analog modulesThree new SNAP analog modules offer eight input points per module.

No breakout boards are needed, because field wiring goes directly to two pluggable connectors on the module's top.

When you have a minute, take a look at our new website homepage. Click the main picture (you may have to click more than once) and then use your mouse to explore the virtual SNAP PAC rack.

  • Have you used the manual/auto switch modules for testing?
  • Did you know some analog modules provide loop sourcing?
  • Have you seen our wide range of thermocouple inputs?
