Manage 3-Phase Power Usage with New Input Module

You may already be using our SNAP-AIPM analog input module to help manage single-phase electrical power. Now you can track 3-phase power usage for motors and machinery with the new SNAP-AIPM-3.

Like its cousin, the SNAP-AIPM-3 monitors voltage and current through wired inputs and then calculates true power and volt-amps.

But this new module does it for each of the three phases, and in addition calculates true power sums for all phases.

From the module's data, you can easily determine leading or lagging power factor. If you're using PAC Control, your control strategy logic can do the calculations for you and manage devices to save electrical costs.

New Belgium Brewery Case Study

You've heard of green beer, but never like this.

The New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado is one of the largest microbreweries in the U.S.A.

Famous for its Belgian brews, like Fat Tire Ale, the brewery is also dedicated to making as little impact as possible on its local environment.

With power provided by windmills and methane gas from its own water-purification system, New Belgium Brewery sets a new standard for "green" beer. And we're proud to help.

Watch our new video case study and see how New Belgium uses Opto 22 products in all its brewing processes, building management, and environmental management systems.

Hot Tips from PSG: Get Troubleshooting Help from the OptoKB

Opto 22's Product Support Group (PSG) develops some helpful tips as they work with customers who contact them for free product support.

When you run into a problem, a good place to look for help is the OptoKnowledgeBase, or OptoKB.

The OptoKB is a series of articles maintained by PSG about problems, fixes, and workarounds. It's easy to search the OptoKB for suggestions related to a problem you see. Here's how.

1. On the Opto 22 website, click the Support tab.

2. Click Search the Opto 22 KnowledgeBase.

On the OptoKB Article Search page, you'll see a list of KB articles in order of most recent activity. But the best way to troubleshoot problems is to use the fields at the top of the page to search for your specific problem.

Search OptoKB

3. In the Search By field, make sure "Article Text" appears.

4. In the Search Text field, type whatever relates directly to your problem. Examples: an error or status code ("-36"), a message ("invalid address"), a symptom ("missing graphic"), a PAC Control command name, etc.

5. Click the Search button. (It doesn't search if you just press Enter.)

Scan the search results. Often you'll find an answer or workaround right there in the OptoKB that helps you solve the problem. If not, you can always call PSG. We're here to help.
