With even simpler configuration than before, and with increased support for online software services, OptoEMU Sensor firmware version 2.0 is now available.
If you already have an OptoEMU, you can download the new version for free.
In version 2.0, the OptoEMU Sensor Manager utility now handles all configuration tasks in one easy-to-use interface—including this firmware upgrade.
Version 2 also includes the following changes to online software services:
- Adds eSight Energy as an online software service.
- Supports additional inputs for the Pulse Energy software service.
- Removes Google PowerMeter (GPM). Google has announced that GPM will no longer be available after September 16, 2011. Any energy data in GPM will be unavailable after that date.
To get the new firmware, just download OptoEMU Sensor Manager 2.0 and the OPTOEMU-SNR-3V Update File. To install, follow directions under "Maintaining the OptoEMU Sensor" in the revised OptoEMU Sensor User's Guide, form 1932.
If you don't have an OptoEMU Sensor yet, now's the time to start monitoring your energy usage with detailed data. Learn more about the OptoEMU Sensor.
Natural gas vehicles (NGVs) are increasingly attractive, especially for large fleets. But providing the necessary control and communications for a $47 million custom refueling station and parking depot for 300 buses is no easy task.
In Madrid, Spain, systems integrator Optomation Systems turned to the SNAP PAC System to handle control for a refueling station of this size and complexity. The Ethernet-based system natively communicates with a variety of industrial and IT protocols.
In our new case study, you can learn more about how the Sanchinarro station's equipment, systems, and external databases work together and communicate to keep the station operating safely and efficiently.
With the success of this station, additional similar stations are now under construction.

Justin Gries.
