Inside Sales

Opto 22 is seeking experienced, talented and enthusiastic Inside Sales candidates. This position is an Inside Sales role which contributes to Opto 22’s success by managing an assigned account base, qualifying new leads and prospecting new business.

In this key role you will:

  • Promote Opto 22 to new and existing clients via product, industry and account knowledge
  • Qualify new and existing client leads
  • Collaborate with application engineers, field sales engineers, customer service and other team members to maximize pipeline opportunities and closure
  • Make outbound calls to understand client needs and promote Opto 22 solutions
  • Use a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool to help manage contacts and opportunities, collaborate across the team, and drive sales growth
  • Serve as a client contact point for standard business inquiries, calling on other Opto 22 functions as needed to support effective execution
  • Meet or exceed mutually agreed upon sales goals and objectives
  • Own, qualify and develop opportunities passed on from marketing, field sales and applications engineering
  • Keep abreast of new and existing Opto 22 products, solutions, promotions and programs

You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have experience working in a similar role for a major distributor or manufacturer
  • Have excellent verbal and written skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person
  • Have familiarity with products, solutions and marketplace related to instrumentation, controls, sensors and automation (preferred but not required)
  • Are able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Are a goal-oriented, organized, team player that is self-motivated and self-directed
  • Like talking to people and being a brand ambassador


  • Experience in Inside Sales at a manufacturer or distributor of instrumentation, controls, automation,
    electronics components or industrial electrical equipment
  • This is a customer facing role, so energy, communication skills, and good business sense are critical.
  • Ability to develop in-depth understanding of Opto 22 clients, their industries, goals and personnel
  • Able to prospect and promote products, solutions and concepts to existing and potentially new accounts
  • Proven results of delivering and meeting sales goals
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, GoToMeeting, Gmail, Google Drive and Google Docs
  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
