Signature Projects

Our first exposure to the Opto 22 hardware platform was an HMI migration effort at a local southern Indiana chemical production facility. At that site, we were contracted to upgrade an existing CITECT HMI system that had outlasted its vendor support. Ignition was the chosen HMI software platform. During our HMI migration programming efforts, it became immediately apparent to us that the Opto 22 control hardware was a quality system. We spent a lot of time reviewing the PAC Control programming, tags, and SNAP PAC hardware capability during the research phase of the Ignition migration. As a result of this experience, we began utilizing the groov EPIC platform for some of our distillery automation system design projects.

More recently, we have migrated some of our packaged distillery process code to the CODESYS platform, which allowed us to start utilizing the groov EPIC platform for some of our distillery, chemical, and automation integration projects.

Our most recent successes with the groov EPIC platform were implemented at the new OleSmoky flavored spirits restaurant in Nashville, TN. The project is still in development, but covers 3 sites, with different process scale and automation process needs.

We pride ourselves on being a one-stop shop for all of your industrial process design needs, providing technical design expertise in all major engineering disciplines.

Our process and mechanical engineers coordinate closely with our electrical, structural, and automation engineers throughout the project design lifecycle, helping us eliminate many of the communication hurdles and technical pitfalls that can drive chaos on large, complicated, facility construction projects. Unlike many other engineering design firms, we have extensive system integration capabilities, with experience in automation deployments, construction support, and on-site commissioning services. This gives us an advantage when evaluating and implementing design changes early in the process design phase, and also further incentivizes us to deliver a quality product as we are the ones that have to “make it work” in the end!

We provide support options for our projects up through and beyond the beginning stages of site production, offering a variety of maintenance support contracts to help ensure that our diverse set of customers’ needs are met in a cost-effective manner throughout the facility’s operational lifecycle.
