The AC31 adapter card is a general purpose addressable interface that allows any slave serial device that uses asynchronous serial communications (terminals, printers, barcode readers, etc.) to be addressed and attached to a multidrop network.
The AC31 is an addressable interface for the OPTOMUX bus. Many devices incompatible with the OPTOMUX bus protocol can be made compatible by using an AC31.
