PCI-AC48 Adapter Card

The PCI-AC48 is an isolated, high-speed adapter card designed to link RS-485 serial devices, such as Opto 22's B3000 brains, with computers using the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus. This adapter card is ideal for customers who have been using Opto 22's AC37 adapter card, but must upgrade to a newer computer that uses the PCI bus instead of the ISA bus.

PC-Based I/O Overview

This document shows examples of system architecture for PC-based I/O control systems and lists Opto 22 products that work together for PC-based control. System examples include:

- Ethernet systems using SoftPAC, a software-based programmable automation controller programmed with PAC Control
- Ethernet systems using the OptoMMP protocol
- Direct control of I/O using no I/O processor (no brain)
- Serial control using a brain and the mistic or Optomux protocol
- High-speed control using the Pamux protocol

AC37 High-Speed ISA Bus to Remote Bus Adapter Card Data Sheet

The AC37 is an isolated, high-speed serial interface for AT-class IBM-compatible computers and is compatible with all Opto 22 16-bit and 32-bit software and hardware.
