Part of the
groov EPIC® system, the
GRV-CCANI-2 serial module provides two independent, isolated serial channels (ports) allowing the GRV-EPIC-PR1 to communicate through a Controller Area Network (CAN). The module cover includes an LED that indicates status and a touch-sensitive pad. Touch the pad and the
groov EPIC processor displays information about the module, including specifications and a wiring diagram.
The GRV-CCANI-2 mounts on any
groov EPIC® chassis alongside a
GRV-EPIC-PR1 processor and analog and discrete
groov I/O modules, to provide the mix of signals you need at any location.
groov serial modules are directly connected to the processor via the bus on the chassis, so each serial port works like a port that’s built into the processor. Serial modules can be placed in any of the first four positions on the chassis, and
groov serial modules contain two to four channels, so depending on the serial communication modules you use, you can add 8 to 16 serial ports to your GRV-EPIC-PR1.
Note that this direct connection means that an EPIC processor can control serial modules on its own chassis, but it cannot control serial modules on a separate EPIC chassis. Other devices, such as a SNAP PAC controller, also cannot control serial modules on an EPIC chassis.
All
groov I/O modules are UL/cUL listed and compliant with the ATEX, Low Voltage, and EMC CE and UKCA directives. Each module is factory tested twice before shipment.
Important Notes:
- This module requires groov EPIC Firmware 1.5.0 or higher on your GRV-EPIC-PR1.
- It currently works only with CODESYS applications (with version 1.0.2.0 of Opto 22 Library Package for CODESYS Development System) and custom control programs with shell access.
- PAC Project support will be available in a future release.
