License for Ignition Edge in groov EPIC processor or groov Edge Appliance

Production Specification

When added to a groov EPIC processor (GRV-EPIC-PR1) or a groov Edge Appliance (groov Box, GROOV-AR1-BASE), this license removes the two-hour time limit (trial mode) on the Ignition Edge Gateway installed on all groov EPIC processors and groov Boxes.

If you are connecting to PLCs via Ignition Edge OPC UA drivers or using MQTT/Sparkplug in your application, you need this license.

If you are using full Ignition, not Ignition Edge, you need a different license. Contact us for more information.

NOTE: When activating your groov product, activate the EPIC processor or groov Box first, and then activate GROOV-LIC-EDGE.
To use GROOV-LIC-EDGE, you must also have a groov EPIC processor (GRV-EPIC-PR1) or a groov Box (GROOV-AR1-BASE).

groov EPIC Processor Data Sheet

This data sheet describes Opto 22's groov EPIC® processors, part numbers GRV-EPIC-PR1 and GRV-EPIC-PR2, which are embedded Linux®, real-time controllers with gateway functions. The processor is your central command to your groov EPIC system, which handles multiple control, automation, and data acquisition tasks involving digital and analog control, serial string handling, PID, and enterprise connectivity.

The processor includes a high-resolution color touchscreen display. It provides USB and HDMI ports so you can extend its capabilities, as well as dual independent Gigabit Ethernet network interfaces.

Software tools include groov Manage, groov View, PAC Project, Node-RED, Ignition Edge® from Inductive Automation® , and CODESYS® Runtime Engine from CODESYS. Full use of some software tools requires a license; the following licenses are also covered in this data sheet:

groov Box Data Sheet

The groov Edge Appliance (groov Box) is Opto 22’s internet of things (IoT) and operator interface appliance that provides visualization, data handling, and connectivity to automation systems, software, databases, and devices of all kinds—all in a compact, industrially hardened box suited to the edge of the network.

Read about everything you can do with the groov Box and more in this data sheet, which covers the following part numbers:

groov EPIC User's Guide

This user's guide shows you how to assemble, initialize, configure, and maintain a groov EPIC system and use groov EPIC processors, part numbers GRV-EPIC-PR1 and GRV-EPIC-PR2. The guide explains how to mount the power supplies, processor, and groov I/O modules onto the groov chassis, the first configuration steps to take after you turn it on, and how to keep the system up-to-date through system updates.

groov Box User's Guide

This user's guide shows you how to set up and configure a GROOV-AR1-BASE groov Box Edge Appliance and to work with the software in the Box, including:

  • groov View for building and using operator interfaces
  • Node-RED for building simple logic flows for internet of things applications
  • Ignition Edge internal OPC-UA server and drivers, plus MQTT Transmission protocol (for full use, requires GROOV-LIC-EDGE)
