OPC clients accessing unavailable string tag types, may affect updates in OptoOPCServer

Applies To:

OptoOPCServer

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R7.0a
Problem is corrected in version: R7.0c

Symptoms:

Adding a non-existing ioControl string tag or string table to an OPC client, and performing a synchronous read, causes other tags associated with the same device to stop updating (subscription services). Previously configured tags to the same device that had reported ‘good quality’, stop updating. The non-existing string tag or table will report the data quality as ‘Bad—Device Failure.’

Resolution:

Opto 22 has corrected this issue.
