Problem is fixed in version: R7.1g

Symptoms:

If an email event message set up for Outgoing PPP is sent before the PPP connection is established, the I/O unit will reset once the connection is established.

To Reproduce the Problem

  1. Configure Outgoing PPP as the default gateway and to dial on demand.
    • Use ioManager, Communications→PPP Configure.

    • Set “Outgoing PPP” = enabled.

    • Select “Set Default Gateway to PPP” = Yes.

    • Set “PPP Link Always Connected” = No.

    • Other PPP settings must be configured appropriately for the modem and PPP access point used.

  2. While the PPP link is not established,
    • Use an ioControl strategy to send communications using a “tcp:” type handle to a remote host that is not on the same IP Subnet as the brain,
    or
    • Configure SMTP Server IP Address of the email configuration to an IP address that is not on the same subnet as the brain, and activate an email event message.

  3. The brain resets once the outgoing PPP link is established.
