Rapidly changing PAC Display/ioDisplay alarm point states may have unexpected results

Applies To:

PAC Display Professional
PAC Display Basic
ioDisplay Professional
ioDisplay Basic

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.0e PAC Display, R7.1a ioDisplay

Problem is fixed in: R8.0f PAC Display, B7.1t ioDisplay

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in: R8.0f PAC Display, B7.1t ioDisplay

Symptoms:

When a configured alarm point goes into an alarm state, PAC Display/ioDisplay steps through an alarm processing sequence to set the configured point’s alarm characteristics (sound, color, notification, appearance in alarm window, etc.). If the point goes out of the alarm state before ioDisplay finishes stepping through the alarm processing sequence, some initial alarm characteristics may not be set, possibly causing undesirable results.

For example, if an alarm point is configured to play a sound until it is acknowledged and the alarm processing sequence does not finish, the alarm message may never appear in the alarm window. As a result, the alarm cannot be acknowledged.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue. The fix for PAC Display is released. The fix in ioDisplay is available in a beta version.
