PAC Display Runtime does not run as expected when approaching December 31st

Applies To:

PAC Display Professional
PAC Display Basic
ioDisplay Professional
ioDisplay Basic
FactoryFloor Software - OptoDisplay

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.2e PAC Display
R7.1j ioDisplay
R4.1a OptoDisplay

Problem is fixed in version: R8.2f PAC Display
B8.0s PAC Display
B7.1w ioDisplay
B4.1f OptoDisplay

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R8.2f PAC Display
B8.0s PAC Display
B7.1w ioDisplay
B4.1f OptoDisplay

Symptoms:

On PAC Display Runtime startup, the Event Viewer appears blank or grayed-out, and Runtime appears to hang.

Workaround:

There are two ways to workaround this problem. The first is to disable the Enable Auto Synchronization option in PAC Display Configurator (Configure→Runtime, Control Engine) by unchecking the option box. The second workaround is to set the PC clock time to a date so that January 1 is not within the number of days specified by the auto synchronization feature. The default, as shown above, is seven days.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue in the current PAC Display release. Contact Opto 22 Product Support if you need the fix for ioDisplay Runtime (using R7.1 or prior firmware in Ultimate I/O controllers), OptoDisplay Runtime, or for PAC Display R8.0 applications that cannot be upgraded to a higher revision (using R7.2 firmware in Ultimate I/O controllers).
