HiHi alarms sometimes cannot be acknowledged in the Runtime alarm window

Symptoms:

An active HiHi alarm in PAC Display Runtime may not be acknowledged successfully the second time it's activated and there's an attempt to acknowledge it.

Example:

An alarm point TestAlarm has five conditions defined: HiHi = 5, Hi = 4, Normal= 3, Lo = 2, LoLo = 1.

It's initial value is 3.

  1. Start PAC Display Runtime.
  2. In the PAC Control strategy, set the variable associated to the TestAlarm tag to 5. The alarm screen shows the HiHi alarm condition.

  4. In PAC Control, set the alarm variable to 3, and press the Acknowledge All button. The alarm screen is cleared.

  6. In PAC Control, set the alarm variable to 5. The alarm screen shows the HiHi alarm condition again.


  7. In PAC Control, set the alarm variable to 3, and press the Acknowledge All button. The alarm screen is not cleared, and the Silence and Unsilence buttons are disabled. The only way to clear the alarm is to restart PAC Display Runtime.



Workaround:

When the alarm point is in the HiHi state, acknowledge the alarm by highlighting it, clicking the Silence button, the Unsilence button, and then the Acknowledge or Acknowledge All button.


Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
