PAC Display Runtime Professional sometimes fails to start

Symptoms:

Note: This issue happens only when a PAC Display Professional project has been configured with at least one user (Configure > Runtime > Security tab).

If you click the Exit Runtime button in PAC Display Runtime Pro instead of selecting a user name and entering a password, Runtime closes as expected. However, if you try to restart Runtime, sometimes Runtime won't reopen. No messages or warnings are displayed to explain why Runtime Pro won't start.

Workaround:

  1. Open Windows Task Manager.
  2. In Windows 8 and higher, click the Details tab.
    In Windows 7 and Vista, click the Processes tab.
  3. Find DisplayRpro.exe, and then right-click it.
  4. In the pop-up menu, click End Task, and then click End Process.
  5. Restart Runtime Pro.

Resolution:
