PAC Control Ramp Analog Output command doesn't work or affects wrong point

Applies To:

Firmware for:

  • SNAP-PAC-S1, SNAP-PAC-S1-FM, SNAP-PAC-S1-W
  • SNAP-PAC-S2, SNAP-PAC-S2-W
  • SNAP-PAC-R1, SNAP-PAC-R1-FM, SNAP-PAC-R1-W, SNAP-PAC-R1-B
  • SNAP-PAC-R2, SNAP-PAC-R2-FM, SNAP-PAC-R2-W
  • SoftPAC
  • SNAP-PAC-EB1, SNAP-PAC-EB1-FM, SNAP-PAC-EB1-W
  • SNAP-PAC-EB2, SNAP-PAC-EB2-FM, SNAP-PAC-EB2-W
  • SNAP-PAC-SB1, SNAP-PAC-SB2

Versions Affected:

All firmware versions through R10.0d, if using SNAP I/O

Resolved In Version:

PAC firmware R10.0f

Symptoms:

In a PAC Control strategy, if you use the Ramp Analog Output command on a SNAP analog output point, you might see that the analog point does not change or another analog point might be ramped. This only occurs on SNAP analog output modules with more than 4 points, like the SNAP-AOVA-8 and it only affects the upper 4 points. Ramping is only supported on the first 4 points, so you should get an error (but don't) when attempting to ramp any points higher than the first 4 points.

Workaround:

When using the PAC Control Ramp Analog Output command, make sure you select only channels 0-3 on the SNAP analog output module.
