PAC Control debug mode may show errors or incorrect data

Applies To:

PAC Control

Versions Affected:

R9.6 or lower

Resolved In Version:

R10.0a

Symptoms:

When using PAC Control 9.6 (or lower versions) with a controller that has firmware 10.0 (or higher), PAC Control debug mode uses older versions of debugger commands to read/write data. This may result in errors or incorrect data.

Note: This only affects PAC Control debug mode; it does not affect the commands used in your PAC Control strategy.

Examples of symptoms include: An I/O unit may report incorrect values for IVALs and/or XVALs.

If you inspect the controller using PAC Control or PAC Terminal, you may see incorrect warnings:

Note: Not all symptoms are known

Workaround:

Use PAC Control 10.0 or higher when using a controller with firmware 10.0 or higher. If you cannot upgrade to PAC Control 10.0 or higher, then use controller firmware R9.5h, which is available at ftp://ftp.opto22.com
