Analog Input Readings are Incorrect (Beyond Scale Boundaries)

Applies To:

Firmware for GRV-EPIC-PR1

Versions Affected:

All versions prior to 3.2.0

Resolved In Version:

3.2.0

Symptoms:

Analog input readings may be incorrect. If you check the engineering unit scaling for the input, it may not match the way you configured it. It is uncommon to experience this issue because the cause is unique.

When engineering unit scaling configuration is sent to the I/O Unit, the upper scale value is stored to memory first and the firmware immediately validates the value by comparing it to the current lower scale value. If the values are the same, then it sets the upper scale value to default for that point type.

Then the lower scale value is stored to memory and the firmware immediately validates the value by comparing it to the current upper scale value. If the values are the same, then it sets the lower scale value to default for that point type.

Workaround:

If you encounter this issue and want to ensure that your configuration choices are saved correctly, do the following:

  1. Change the upper and lower end of the scale to values different from what you want and from what's stored in memory, then save.
  2. Change the upper and lower end of the scale to the values that you want, then save.
