Pulses may not start for groov digital output channels configured for TPO

Applies To:

Firmware for the following modules:

  • GRV-OAC-12
  • GRV-OACI-12
  • GRV-ODCI-12
  • GRV-ODCSRC-24

Versions Affected:

GRV-OAC-12, GRV-OACI-12: R1.0k to 1.3a
GRV-ODCI-12, GRV-ODCSRC-24: R1.0k to 1.3b

Resolved In Version:

1.3b of GRV-OAC-12, GRV-OACI-12
1.3c of GRV-ODCI-12, GRV-ODCSRC-24

Symptoms:

If a groov EPIC processor is running a PAC Control strategy and the digital output channels (for the listed modules) are configured for TPO, pulse trains may fail to start in the following situations:

  • When the PAC Control strategy runs either of the following commands:
    • Generate N Pulses
    • Set TPO Period followed by Set TPO Percent

This issue may be more likely when many or all channels on a module are configured for TPO and pulses are started one after the other without delay.

  • Changing pulsed operations from an indefinite pulse train (created with the Set TPO Period command followed by the Set TPO Percent command, or the Start Continuous Square Wave command) to finite pulse train (created with the Start On-Pulse, Start Off-Pulse, or the Generate N Pulses command).
Note: To completely resolve this issue, you must also apply updated firmware to GRV-EPIC-PR1 as described in RM GRV-EPIC-PR1 Firmware Readme. Look for KB88528.
